The Cut features a delightful interview with Giovanna Battaglia in which she shares fun facts about playing stylist to her Barbies as a girl, being punished for her first Dolce & Gabbana purchase, her current interest in masculine shoes like loafers and oxfords, and her favorite saying — too much is never enough. Be sure to read the interview in full if you have not seen it yet.

Today's guest post is by the lovely cca. from CIRCA Fashion in which she posits the theory that Giovanna Battaglia and her sister Sara are uniting forces to take over the fashion world... Read on to see why the Battaglia sisters make such an amazing team...
Team Battaglia
By cca.
The inseparable sisters Giovanna and Sara Battaglia form a stylish duo and our sources suggest that Team Battaglia is poised to take over the fashion world!
Let’s take a closer look:
Team Battaglia consists of two Italian sisters who are creative business women. Giovanna is a well-rounded Renaissance woman with a career as an editor, stylist, and model. Sara is a talented handbag designer and models for her own campaigns.
Giovanna travels the world extensively and keeps Sara close by so she can pass on her career wisdom and life lessons.
Sara creates for a woman just like Giovanna. She says this about her designs: "Each time I start a new project I want the final effect to create movement around the woman, so I use lots of fringes in many different colors that together create a single one."
Giovanna and Sara coordinate so well together reminding everyone that two beauties are better than one.
They are a very supportive team. Whatever color scheme Giovanna chooses to wear, chances are that Sara has made the perfect handbag for the outfit; she is always there for her big sister.
Sara shines so brightly in Giovanna's life that sometimes she has to give her a little shade. But Sara understands because her sister is a Kool Kid.
In Giovanna's work as a stylist you can see she always has Sara in mind. Their bond is strong!
Sara Battaglia is beautiful, sassy, supportive, joyful, and a must have; of course she is Giovanna's favorite. Lucky for those of us in the USA we can finally experience Sara Battaglia's designs too via thecorner.com. The facts are clear — it's a Team Battaglia fashion takeover going down!

My dear friend Lula was so inspired by Giovanna Battaglia's chic attire for the Met Ball that she had to put on her glorious Marni gown for herself! Please visit Lula at The Subject I Know Best for more of her amazing illustrations of the evening's best dressed.

This is a bit offbeat but Audrey Hepburn is one of Giovanna Battaglia's favorites as well as mine so I am honoring her birthday today by featuring the trailers for Roman Holiday (1953) which includes shots from her very first screen test, Sabrina (1954), Funny Face (1957), and Breakfast At Tiffany's (1961). Thanks to Nylon for the brilliant idea. She is quite simply the most beautiful woman ever to grace the screen yet she doubled her enchanting charm by retaining her shy modesty despite her enormous success. May I suggest that while Giovanna was inspired by her icon Mina for the Met Gala at the same time she bears a striking resemblance to Audrey...
