Giovanna Battaglia: Audace Manifesto
This surrealistic masterpiece, "Audace Manifesto," was styled by Giovanna Battaglia for the March issue of Vogue Paris. The essence of Salvador Dali pervades the photographs of Arizona Muse and Missy Rayder covered in the most luxurious gemstones, bold makeup, and little else beyond a few feathers and straps here and there. Giovanna sets the tone for the editorial thusly: "L'art et la manière surréalistes d'associer bijoux et joyaux massifs sans logique de genre. Seule valeur dominante ici : le plaisir des apparences." which translates into English as "The art and practice of associating surrealist jewelry and massive gems without logic of any kind. The single dominant value here: the pleasure of appearances." The jewelry is absolutely exquisite and the diamond and tsavorite necklace by De Grisogono is especially stunning, remember when Giovanna wore it at Cannes last year? The long list of jewelry designers featured includes Sarah Heulwen Lewis, Tony Duquette, Anndra Neen, Solange Azagury Partridge, Chopard, Lucifer Vir Honestus, Keiselton Chord, Ana Khouri, Gucci, David Yurman, Hermès, Delfina Delettrez, Repossi, Bottega Veneta, Buccellati, Cartier, David Webb, Lanvin, Ilias Lalaounis, Patek Philippe, Bulgari, Pomellato, Faraone Mennella, Van Cleef & Arpels, Keiselstein-Chord, and Jaeger LeCoultre. Mikael Jansson photographed "Audace Manifesto;" the model on top wears Mark Fast and the model below is in Alexander McQueen.
