Giovanna Battaglia At Christian Dior

One of the strongest characteristics of Giovanna Battaglia's style is her sense of whimsy and I imagine she was smiling as she assembled this dotted ensemble. I love every single detail that she chose for her look, the various accessories in tortoiseshell and reptile combined with the necklaces add the perfect edge to her beige polka dot pant suit. Her hair also suits the mood of the look just right. Brava, Gio!

Giovanna Battaglia At Ferragamo Resort 2012

Giovanna Battaglia cut a chic silhouette at the presentation of the Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012 collection held at the James B. Duke Mansion in New York City last week. The stately mansion was lavishly adorned in blue hydrangeas, delphinium, peonies, and Scottish thistle accenting the nautical hues of the collection: blue, silver, and white. Massimiliano Giornetti, creative director for Salvatore Ferragamo, shared a bit of his inspiration for the collection, one of the former occupants of the mansion where the clothing debuted: "I was really thinking about Doris Duke. She could go anywhere, do anything. And I wanted to create a wardrobe for a woman who could do all that... I like the idea of women getting on and off a boat." Accompanying the collection were the tunes that evoke the glamour of the era, "As Time Goes By," "I Get A Kick Out of You," "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes." Following the presentation, guests enjoyed an exclusive cocktail party at the Carlyle Hotel. Grazie mille to Gala for sending me many of the photographs.

Giovanna Battaglia: Milano Portfolio

Grazie mille to Gala for sending me these photographs of Giovanna Battaglia and her sister Sara at the "Milano Portfolio," a collaboration between Men in Italy and the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (the National Chamber of Italian Fashion) that focuses on the rich bond between the city of Milan and menswear. The "Milano Portfolio," conceived as a visual novel, combines the talents of 22 creative teams each composed of a photographer and a stylist from the new Milanese generation. The project's creator, Stefano Roncato, shares a bit of his inspiration: "Milan has a fashionable soul in constant evolution, the city with an architecture in progress, new names debuting on the runways, secret and sometime forgotten places, but always fascinating. And that new generation of artists and image experts that are leaving their mark at the international level. We thought it would be interesting to envisage a new creative collision among such elements, and to create a brand new story in which words are replaced by images." The "Milano Portfolio" was presented at the Palazzo Giureconsulti and of course Giovanna and Sara Battaglia were among the stylish guests for the event. Men In Italy also produced a book titled Milano Portfolio in conjunction with CNMI earlier this year.

Giovanna Battaglia: ELLE Favorite

Our fabulous editor-at-large Gala sent me the clipping seen here and I want to share her enthusiastic remarks with you in both Italian and English, my apologies if my translation leaves something to be desired. Grazie tanto Gala!! I also included a bonus photo of the De Grisogono party just for fun.

Giovanna Battaglia appears under the heading "SEEN BY ELLE" — "Trends, cults, personalities FAVORITES WE LIKE." from ELLE Italy July 2011. Among the looks that have most impressed the editors of the magazine, during the Cannes Film Festival, the bondage-chic style has not gone unnoticed. In the description of her rare vintage Gianni Versace dress from '92 worn for the mega De Grisogono party they use the title of it-girl!

Giovanna Battaglia: Christina Finds Her Voice

Giovanna Battaglia is part of the creative team behind the oddly ethereal images of Christina Aguilera that grace half of the covers for the July 2011 issue of W as well as the editorial "Christina Finds Her Voice;" both were photographed by Daniele Duella and Iango Henzi. Covering the other 50 percent is an image of Beyoncé in Givenchy Fall 2011 from the editorial "Fierce, Fearless, Female" as styled by Alex White and photographed by Patrick Demarchelier. Which cover do you like best? I am a subscriber and I received the Beyoncé cover, I think I prefer it...
